Hot Alyssa Milano and Her Less Than Hurtful Tats

Hot Alyssa Milano and Her Less Than Hurtful Tats by Roxanne McDonald

And so does the supreme spirit of Alyssa Milano go beyond the surface.

Alyssa Milano has commented that she would rather have tattoos all over her body than have one laser treatment done, and she should know the difference, having undergone two laser hair removal treatments that she found torturously painful.

More pleasant is the barely hurtful tattoo needle, one that brings more lasting and more significant results:

Milano has seven tats, each with symbolism explained by such aficionados as Vanishing Tattoo, on their “101 World’s Hottest Women with Tattoos list, where Alyssa ranks #22:

At the base of her neck, Milano has a Sanskrit/Tibetan symbol that stands for depth of heart and wisdom, according to one poster at Tattoo NOW.

On her right shoulder blade is a cross with a chain of rosary beads—the symbolism clearly common to Christianity and Catholicism, but to what degree for the starlet personally…who knows?

On her butt is a sacred heart, seemingly representative of Alyssa’s humanitarian efforts and spirit, though, again, traditionally standing for Christ’s sacrifice of self (as Vanishing Tattoo suggests).

On her lower stomach, below her navel, is a fairy kneeling in grass. The fairy has many possible reference points—from a revisiting of childhood to a reverence for all that is mythological, magical, mystical.

On the inside of her left wrist is another mystical emblem, the “Om/Ohm symbol, and on the inside of her right wrist is another mythological emblem, that of the Orobous—the serpent biting its own tail.

Both can be said to have religious implications, and at the same time are also respective symbols of Egyptian, Norse, Aztec, Hindu, Tibetan, and/or Dharmic cultures and subcultures.

Another wrist tattoo is the ankh she speaks of as meaning “peace within the self, but I see no pics of the ankh [maybe the writer meant to write Om?], and the ankh actually speaks to eternal love and eternal life, while the Om is the peace within symbol….

An angel on the outside of Milano’s left ankle continues the religious or magical motif (and either joins or replaces the initials of former fiancé, Scott Wolf), while the garland of flowers encircling her right ankle conjures up representations of femininity, fertility (Milano adopts an animal every time she wants a child—and has 13 animals to date), spirituality, and several other suggestions, depending on the culture and the circumstances, of course.

Put all the images and messages together, and we have one spiritual actress with a profound heart for helping women, children, animals, and…for those who adore her look(s), men!
